Hey guys,
I had a little talk with our Captain, about alternative chat systems for our alliance communication.
the ingame message system seems to be good for important messages, but for chit chat or a little bit more of conversation its just insufficient.
the chat in the forum dc's you too fast, so it's not possible to idle and stay for longer times in the chat to catch up on a topic later.
therefor i'd like to suggest skype or irc chat.
i assume both systems are known by most of you, if not, google is your friend and wikipedia has all the answers ;P
anyway, both are client based chats or chat protocolls, so that for irc for example you could use multiclient programs like for example pidgin or specially for irc designed clients like mirc.
both would allow us to setup a group/channel for all members of the alliance.
personally i'd prefer skype, since most people i know already use skype anyway and it would just be easier to create a group there, and there is a skype app which allows you to use skype even on mobile devices.
but in the end i'd be happy with any kind of "advanced" chat system.
the poll will run for 3 days, thanks for participating =)
